Status of Women / Service
What is the Status of Women/Service Committee?
The Service Committee plays a central role in planning and coordinating the service component of the Club’s mission. All committee functions are aimed directly toward improving the legal, economic, health, educational, and safe status of women in Boulder County and internationally.
The Committee manages the awarding of Zonta Foothills service funds to local non-profit agencies which includes soliciting funding requests, making funding recommendations to the general club membership, and notifying potential grant recipients.
The Service Committee also coordinates hands-on projects for the general club membership to help service providers meet community needs of women and their families. In addition, the Committee identifies organizations to support with monthly donations by club members and coordinates the collection and disbursement of donated items.
Committee members review applications for three club awards including the Young Woman in Public Affairs Scholarship, the Woman of Achievement, and Zontian of the Year. They make recommendations for these awards to the general club membership.
