Welcome to the
Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County
We are a group of business and professional leaders who volunteer their time, inspiration, talent and energies to better the lives of women and children in our community and the world. Through our local and international community we raise funds for scholarships, advocacy and social action.
Fourth Annual Authors’ Luncheon a Big Success
Our Fourth Annual Authors’ Luncheon was a big success! We were honored to host over 200 guests at the Omni Interlocken Hotel on March 14, 2009. The Luncheon featured Honorary Chair, Justice Jean Dubofsky, Master of Ceremonies, Clay Evans, and three local esteemed authors: John Shors, Audrey Nelson, PhD. and Sybil Downing. All were gracious, witty and interesting speakers who made our Fourth Annual Luncheon a wonderful event. We thank all of our generous sponsors who made this event a reality: FreeWave Technologies, Miss Catherine’s Learning Center, Good Works Group, L’ecole Llamas and Twenty Ninth Street. And a huge thank you to our club members for their tireless work throughout the year. Funds raised will be used to address issues of healthcare, education, gender violence and economic status for women locally and internationally. Thank you to all of our supporters who contribute to the advancement of women everywhere!
Zonta - the “Let’s Get Things Done” Organization You May Never Have Heard Of
Zonta International is a volunteer organization comprised of professional women who are committed to ensuring that all women are able to fulfill their potential through education, have access and equality in the workplace, have the health care services they need and live a life free from violence. Zonta International is an international service organization that is nearly a century old, with more than 30,000 members in various clubs around the world, all of whom are dedicated to these same goals. Our club, the Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County, is comprised of dedicated women committed to serving our local community and the developing world. We are advocates, entrepreneurs and believers in the power of a few to make a difference for many.

Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County
In the past five years, our volunteer efforts have focused on hands-on service projects and raising more than $50,000 to support community-based and international projects which are making a significant impact in the lives of women and girls. Most recently we have committed time and resource to the Boulder Valley School District’s program to enable teen parents to finish high school and, in partnership with the Twenty Ninth Street Mall, a special event for women returning to or first entering the work force.
In addition, we initiated and endowed the Bev Hackbart Scholarship in honor of a past member who passed away at a young age. The scholarship provides tuition support for a single parent attending the University of Colorado, and was first awarded for the fall 2008 semester.
The funds we raise support efforts undertaken by local and international organizations whose programs work to improve the lives of women and girls. This year, nearly $13,000 in grants were awarded. Read more about our efforts in the Daily Camera.
The Zonta Foothills Foundation was formed in 2006 as a tax exempt non profit organization under the Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). It was formed solely for charitable purposes and supports the Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County’s mission to benefit women and girls. Donations to the Zonta Foothills Foundation are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
