Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County

Welcome to the
Zonta Foothills Club of Boulder County

Authors' Luncheon 2008

Third Annual Authors’ Luncheon

Thanks to all our supporters an volunteers for a wonderfully successful
Third Annual Authors’ Luncheon

Our author presenters – Robert Castellino, Pam Huston, and Jeff Long – were extraordinary in sharing their work and insights, as well as their time, in support our causes. Jeannie Ritter, First Lady of Colorado energized everyone with her encouraging words and as always Clay Evans was engaging and facilitated a lively conversation.

We are so grateful to our major sponsor – FreeWave Technologies – who so generously sponsored the event, along with Twenty Ninth Street Mall. And our successful silent auction would not have been possible without the support of many Boulder County businesses – we hope you will support these businesses that support our community.

The event provided a stimulating afternoon for all involved – and if you would like to receive information about next year’s event, please email president@zonta_foothills.org to get on our list.

We are a group of business and professional leaders who volunteer their time, inspiration, talent and energies to better the lives of women and children in our community and the world. Through our local and international community we raise funds for scholarships, advocacy and social action.

Why is Zonta dedicated to the advancement of women worldwide?

  • 70 percent of the 1.3 billion poor are women.
  • Two-thirds of illiterate adults are women and two-thirds of children not in school are girls.
  • 60 million women are “missing” because of gender-based violence.
  • Every year an estimated 4 million women and girls are bought and sold worldwide.
  • Today, 7,000 women and girls will contract HIV.

As Members of Zonta International we work to advance the status of women by:

  • leading advocacy efforts and acting to improve the lives of women
  • promoting strategies to prevent violence against women
  • funding scholarships and awards for women of exceptional ability and talent through the Zonta International Foundation
  • supporting programs aimed at improving women’s health, safety, and economic and political status through funding by the Zonta International Foundation
  • encouraging mentorship, friendship and networking among members
