The Zonta EducateZ Scholarship

Helping Women Stay in School

Meet our 2025 Zonta Educatez Scholarship Winner

The 2025 winner of our Zonta Educatez Scholarship is Monica Sanchez, a single mother of two young boys. She explains, “I’ve always understood the weight of responsibility and the power of example, and I lead by example, showing up, staying organized, and encouraging others to do the same.”

Her advisor describes Monica as a student who "approaches both her family responsibilities and her education with dedication and strength. Despite the challenges of balancing school and parenting, she has maintained A grades in her classes and continues to strive for excellence in all areas of her life.”

Monica’s goal is to earn a degree in psychology and eventually work as a mental health advocate, particularly for underserved communities. She hopes to be a voice for those who feel unheard and guide those who are navigating difficult paths. She explains, “School is not just a place for me to earn a diploma, it’s where I reclaim my dreams, build my future, and inspire my children to pursue theirs. I hope to show them that it’s never too late to grow, to lead, to make a difference.”

Congratulations, Monica! Your work ethic and leadership are exemplary.
