Remarkable Woman Fund

The Remarkable Woman Fund

Remarkable women are all around us and our mission is to support them to realize their fullest potential.

The Remarkable Woman Fund is awarded to a young woman who has persevered and displays incredible determination to receive her degree. Our annual recipient receives $2,000 from the Zonta Foothills Foundation, which may be sent directly to her college or university to defray tuition and fees.

Our 2025 winner is Roberta Valle a graduate of Boulder’s Justice High School and currently a student at Regis University. Roberta is an inspiration. She explains:

“EDUCATION IS THE GREAT EQUALIZER! I have always worked hard in school, and that is how I know we can change things in the world for women. As an academic leader at my school, a leader in the Junior Optimist club, and team captain for basketball, tennis, and soccer, I have learned that education and exposure to opportunities are how we can equalize things for young women around the world. By being a part of three outreach programs like the Toys for Tots program, Kits for Kids, and Shoes for Everyone, I have learned how the littlest gestures can have a major impact around the world. We all need to remember that even a small ripple can change the course of a lake. Education is the key because many women in girls in the world still do not have equal access to academics. This by itself can be the small ripple that changes women's status around the world. As a big sister to 4 younger sisters, I know that my leadership and pursuit of higher academics have made a difference in how they view school and themselves. It is the little things that make the difference.”
